SPRUCE Strategy Examples
BRH has been leading the way by providing a range of turn key strategies that can be used to solve various problems - over time this has built into a library of strategy options. Below are some strategy examples, where available supporting papers and results have been provided:
Standard Bus Priority
Simple recall/extension strategy
Bus journey time savings of individual junctions in Bradford (2011)

Isolated Network Linking
Allows the linking of networks that benefit from having one or more running isolated under VA or MOVA control, the strategy allows adjacent junctions to be linked accordingly.
Example Network Linking strategy - Hillsborough Sheffield

Traffic Condition Response
Using flow and queue detection, cycletimes, green splits and offsets are adjusted at a single or network of junctions.

Bespoke Strategies
There have been numerous other strategies designed and implemented to tackle more specific network problems.
Example of Bespoke Bus Priority strategy, Woodhouse Lane network Leeds (2012)

Example of Bespoke Tram Priority strategy, Princes Street - Edinburgh

Zero Delay Tram/Bus Priority
Network manipulation for infrequent public transport frequencies.
Overview of the strategy theory
Example of the 'Zero' Delay strategy in a large 18 node network in Sheffield.

Tram Recovery
Manages the transition from local LRT tram priority back to fixed time UTC without stage skipping and allows compensation.
Example of 2 junctions with recovery tram strategies in Edinburgh

Fire Priority Green Wave
Using AVL technology gives Fire Appliances green waves with route choice options.
